Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the southern bank of the river Brahmaputra in Morigaon district in Assam and easy to reach from Guwahati the capital city (around 50 kms, 1hr 30 mins drive). It is known for conservation and protection of the Indian One-horned Rhinoceros. It is also home to various reptiles and a commendable number of migratory birds.
Pobitora wildlife sanctuary has the densest population of One-horned Rhinos in the world.
