Karnala Bird Sanctuary holds the distinction of being the first bird sanctuary in Maharashtra. Located near Panvel on the Mumbai–Goa highway and close to the Mumbai–Pune expressway, it is small yet inviting, offering easy access and simple walks through the greens.
Though best known for its birdlife, this visit in November 2018 also brought moments beyond birdwatching—captured here in a few non‑bird clicks that reflect the charm of the sanctuary’s natural surroundings.
