Birding paradise in Nashik -A place close to the heart

Posted on June 27, 2020June 28, 2020 By admin No Comments on Birding paradise in Nashik -A place close to the heart
A place very close to the heart, a place very very few people know about, a place which is home to a variety of bird species…at different times of the year. Found this place accidentally while I was searching for places with a commendable variety of the avian species in  and around Nashik city . The seclude place provides with the perfect conditions for birding and I intend to keep that place that way. So, no sharing of the location …

I was totally overwhelmed with the feel the place provided on the first date. Subsequently, I kept coming back to this place again and again at different times of the year. A few times I visited the place just to relax and it always felt great.

Birding around this place helped me add a few species to my life list in and around Nashik. The list include Asian Flycatcher, Eurasian Golden Oriole and Coppersmith Barbet. Rose-ringed Parakeet (during summer), Peafowl, Crow, Common Myna, Tailor Birds (during winters), Asian Koel, Greater Coucal are some of the species that are seen in abundance here. Apart from those listed above, occasional sights of numerous other species are a daily thing. The list includes White-throated Kingfisher, Little Egret, Great Cormorant, indian Cormorant, Red-wattled Lapwing, Laughing Dove, White-breasted Waterhen, Indian Pond Heron, Black Drongo, Verditer Flycatcher ( during winters), Red-throated Flycatcher, Oriental Magpie Robin, Great Tit, Oriental White-eye and more…

Apart from the avian life the place is covered by a vast variety of trees and flowers. These provides with a good variety of subjects to look at, in between birding. Compared to the very small area (merely a square kilometer) it is densely populated with nature’s treasures…

Roaming around here, one can experience, the calmness, the peace of mind which closeness to the avian population provides in such an environment. Every time I sit beneath the trees and relax, with the continuous chirping of birds around I become a part of these beautiful piece of nature and feel blessed.

With all these and more this place holds a special place in the heart and hope will keep coming back here again and again…

These snaps shared, I hope, will give you an idea of what this place provides you with if you are a nature lover or a bird lover in particular.
